FundiPay

Digital Payslips & Receipts

Ask a fundi what they were paid last Friday and you will usually hear a number, not a breakdown. Cash wages leave no trail, and by Monday two people remember two different amounts. FundiPay gives every worker two records at the moment of payment: the M-Pesa confirmation SMS on their phone and a digital payslip showing exactly how the money was calculated.

Two records, two jobs

The M-Pesa SMS proves that money arrived. The payslip explains where it came from. One answers "did I get paid?" and the other answers "why is this the amount?". Most construction wage disputes are really questions about the second one, and a clear payslip usually settles them before they reach the site office.

What a FundiPay payslip shows

The payslip is written for a worker, not an accountant. It starts with the days and rate the payment is built from and works forward to the net figure.

  • Days worked and the rate applied for the period.
  • Gross pay before any deductions.
  • Each statutory deduction, shown by name and amount.
  • Any advance repayment, shown openly.
  • Net pay, matching the M-Pesa amount received.

Accessible without a smartphone

The M-Pesa confirmation arrives on any handset. The detailed payslip is available in the worker portal, which is reachable from a smartphone or from a shared site device, and can be printed for a worker who wants a paper copy. Nobody is left out because of the phone in their pocket.

Because payslips are stored against the worker rather than the site, a fundi who moves between projects keeps a continuous wage history — useful proof of income for a loan, a land purchase or a tenancy.

Brand promise: bila ya kutoa

Our brand phrase is "bila ya kutoa" — no deductions that the worker cannot see. Every shilling taken from a wage appears on the payslip with a name attached. That single rule removes the suspicion that quietly poisons site relationships, because the worker no longer has to wonder what was removed and who decided it.

Frequently asked questions

Do workers need an email address for their payslip?

No. Payslips are tied to the worker's FundiPay record and their phone number, not to an email account. A copy can be viewed on the portal or printed on request.

Can a worker keep payslips from previous sites?

Yes. The payslip history follows the worker across sites, so a fundi builds one continuous wage record rather than starting from zero each time they move projects.

Is a digital payslip acceptable as proof of income?

It is a detailed wage record showing employer, period, gross and net pay, which is far stronger than memory or a signed envelope. Many workers use it when applying for tenancy, credit or land.

What if a worker disagrees with the payslip?

Every figure traces back to a locked muster-roll entry or a recorded deduction, so a dispute can be checked against the attendance it was built from rather than argued from memory.
