For Foremen
The foreman carries the hardest job on a Kenyan site: the work has to move, the crew has to be organised, and on Friday everyone blames you for the pay. FundiPay turns the daily muster roll from a pencil book you fill in from memory into a quick check-in that locks the day and settles the arguments about who worked.

Less paperwork, fewer arguments
The old routine means walking the site with a paper book, guessing at who is present, and then defending that guess on pay day. With FundiPay, workers check in themselves from their own phones inside the site geofence, or you run a quick gang check-in at the gate. You review the day's list once and lock it. The arguments about who was on site end, because the record is not your word against anyone else's.
What the foreman does in FundiPay
The workflow is deliberately short, because you have a site to run.
- Run a gang check-in when the crew arrives.
- Review the day's attendance and flag absences or leavers.
- Lock the muster roll once the day is done.
- Add a correction with a note when something genuinely needs fixing.
Why locking the day protects you
Once a day is locked, nobody can quietly edit it — not a worker, not a gang leader, not a manager at head office. Corrections pass through an adjustment trail that records who made the change, when and why. That protects you as much as the contractor: if a name was wrongly added or removed, the trail shows exactly who did it. You are no longer the person accused of fiddling the numbers, because you are not the only record-keeper.
Built for a basic phone in a hot pocket
The foreman's view works on an ordinary Android phone, and the crew's check-in works on any handset by SMS OTP. You do not need a laptop, a printer or signal in a basement. If a worker cannot check in because of a dead battery or a poor signal, you confirm the gang entry before the day is locked, and the correction is recorded.
Frequently asked questions
Will this slow down the morning start?
No. Workers check themselves in by OTP in seconds, and a gang check-in handles a whole crew at once. It is faster than walking the site with a paper book and hoping you did not miss anyone.
Can a worker claim a day they did not work?
They cannot check in from outside the 50-metre geofence, so attendance has to be at the site. If someone disputes a day, the timestamp and location settle it.
What if I disagree with a worker's attendance?
You review and correct attendance before the day is locked. After locking, any further change is recorded as an adjustment with your identity and a reason, so the position is clear.
Do I need to be the one who approves payroll too?
No. The foreman locks attendance; the contractor or payroll officer approves the wage run. That separation is part of what makes the record trustworthy.
